Today was a great day. Isaiah and I spent the afternoon walking around the city with my brother and sister and their families. I love the city this time of year. All the decorations, all the people, it's hard not to get into the spirit of Christmas. Love!
This is a random post, I know. It really has nothing to do with anything other that the fact that I love New York City. It is a city unlike any other and we love you NY!
Ok, so I'm not a huge fan of the monogram handbag, but I do make exceptions. And this little beauty would be that case. I guess you can't really go wrong with Louis Vuitton. That rhymes!
"Don't mess with a man and his tools." I'm pretty sure that's what Isaiah is thinking as I'm taking his picture. I got him a tool/work bench for Christmas. He screamed when he saw the tools. No joke. Love my lil man.
When it comes to decorating my home for the holidays, I favor whites and metallics over red and green. To me it just has a more winter wonderland feel. So even if there isn't snow outside you can imagine it inside.
My favorite part of Christmas parties are the food seeing friends and family. Nothing quite says holiday season like roasted sweet potatoes. Love. Antipasto on a stick? Genius. Or how about caramel covered chocolate dipped marshmallows? I can't take it. I need to try this!
I'm not sure what it is about vintage Christmas cards that I just LOVE. Maybe it's because they remind me of my Grandma Audrey. Or maybe because I often dream of what Christmas might have been like at the Davenport Hotel in the 40's. Magical.
At the park today Isaiah was drawn to the soccer/baseball field. He loved running around on the field. Athletics were a big part of my childhood and I'm thinking Isaiah is headed that way too. His favorite toys are his bat and ball. So I think we are off to a good start.
Isaiah and I went to the park this morning before it started to rain. I'm so thankful for my lil man. Everyday I am grateful to be a Mom. I love you, Isaiah!
Last Saturday was freezing but gorgeous. So Isaiah and I bundled up and headed to the park. I figured we would be the only ones there because it was sooooo cold, but I was wrong. Many kids came out to play and I'm glad we did too!
I will admit I love hot pink. I'm not ashamed of it. However, I understand that for many the color is too loud. I get it. By pairing hot pink with a neutral, like camel, it takes the sting out of it. And it makes for quite a fun combo actually!
I love animal print, but it can be tricky if it's not worn just right. A great way to wear leopard is to pair it with kelly green. It instantly becomes a classic combo. Have a great weekend!
Ombre is a trend we are seeing in fashion. But it doesn't stop there. I love ombre being used at home too. From lamp shades, to throws, to flower arrangements, and even desk drawers. What a great way to add a subtle but interesting touch to your home.
I don't know if it's the Holiday season approaching or it's just the girl in me, but right now I'm loving all that glitters. Not head to toe, just a splash is all I need.
I've never had a coquito, but I'm thinking I should try it. A Coquito is a Puerto Rican Christmas drink made from egg yolks, rum, coconut milk, coconut cream, sweetened condensed milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Yum.
Fur coats aren't really my style, but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate their cool factor. I love this look! Paired with a studded clutch? Even cooler. Have a great weekend.
So, this was the first year I dressed up Isaiah for Halloween. And I didn't know how much fun this would be! He had a parade at school where they went trick or treating and I don't think I've seen anything sooo cute.
Even though the temperature as dropped, the park still has all it's appeal to Isaiah. I mean a playground is a playground. Right? I'm so proud of him. He now goes up and down the slide all by himself. It's the little things, I tell ya.
Ok, so this is a totally random post. I know this dress is not seasonal but I just fell in love with the geometric pattern and color combination. This would be the perfect dress for a summer wedding. When is summer again? Wait, don't remind me.
One way to stay warm on these cold morning walks is to add layer upon layer upon layer. And this isn't limited to just tops. A great way to layer your bottom half is to wear over the knee socks with knee high boots. I'm feeling warmer already!
I think adding avocado to almost anything ups the num factor. But this is just plain genius. Adding avocado to the already perfect combination that is bacon, lettuce, and tomato? Must have now!
I know I mentioned it in a previous post, but this mid calf boot is the perfect casual boot. It's not kissing your knees and the 1.5 inch heal is just enough but not too much lift. I really am on the hunt for the laid back boot.
I'm loving these muted earth tones together. I've always been a fan of the subtlety of tone on tone. And I'm really loving blue and grey and brown all playing together. Great color choice.
Some days life begs you to question everything. Today is one of those days. I know this feeling will come an go, so that's when I just remember to start where I am, use what I have, and do what I can.
This just might be my fall uniform this year. It is effortless yet pulled together which is exactly what this Mom needs. Check! I've always rooted for black and brown worn together. This definitely works for me.
I have a mid week dinner with the girls and this is what I'll be wearing. It's nice enough for a semi formal dinner but still has a casual, no effort vibe. Looking forward to hanging with my ladies!
